Heroes Hall groundbreaking and World Trade Center steel dedication

A ceremony to dedicate a piece of steel from the World Trade Center at the future site of Heroes Hall at the fairgrounds, with a ceremonial groundbreaking, two hours after the Veterans Day Tribute downtown; the County’s page invites elected leaders, veterans and families. Heroes Hall is the veterans’ building planned for the fairgrounds: 14,000 square feet with a 7,000-square-foot basement, event space and a conference center, to house the County’s Veterans Service Office, the American Legion, the VFW and the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation, at an estimated $15 million raised mostly from private donations, by the County’s own accounts of October 2024 and October 2025.
