Castle Rock Recreation Center

The Town’s recreation center, with everything below included in the daily admission: a 25-yard swimming pool with lap lanes and a separate leisure pool, each with its own schedule on the Town’s site, with a lift for people with disabilities; basketball courts and a gymnasium; an indoor track; a cardio fitness area, free and circuit weights and a strength and conditioning area; group fitness studios and a mind/body studio; racquetball and wallyball courts; a steam room; locker rooms including a family one; and rooms to rent.

Child-watch takes children aged 1 to 8 while a parent uses the building, two hours at most per stay and subject to space; annual family memberships include it during Tykes Toyland hours. Admission is charged, with a resident discount for people who show they pay Town taxes and a scholarship program for those who need help with the cost. The Recreation Center and the MAC sell separate passes, and one does not work at the other.

Open 5 am to 9 pm Monday to Thursday, 5 to 8 on Friday, 7 to 8 on Saturday and 7 to 6 on Sunday. The leisure pool and lazy river close half an hour before the building and its features open at 10 am; the steam room closes a quarter-hour before. Holiday hours: closed New Year’s Day, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day; 5 am to 2 pm on Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Tykes Toyland, the child-watch room, runs 8:15 am to 1:15 pm Monday to Friday, 5 to 7:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday.
